Thank you Evergreen Hurricane Parents!

"Evergreen really knows how to host a meet."  This is what was heard several times over at the meet this weekend.  Hospitality is our specialty!  From off the deck in concessions to on the deck with parent helpers timing, saftey monitors, officiating, etc., parents it could not have been done without all of your support!  Thank you!!

A special thank you to our volunteer coordinator Freda Malazdrewicz and our hospitality and concessions coordinators Susan Kramer and Kelly Weist for always going above and beyond the expected.
 

Summer Travel Meet: First Deposit Due Today: Tuesday, Feb. 9th:

A $350.00 deposit is due today to cover approximate plane ticket costs, along with your medical form.  Please make sure these are turned into Coach Jeff by the end of practice tonight.

Silver and Senior State Meet Entries Due Wednesday, Feb. 10th:

This is a qualifying meet.  If you are unsure as to whether or not your child has qualified, please contact Coach Jeff.  If your child has qualified, they will automatically be entered, unless you notify Coach Jeff by email at jarm003@yahoo.com by this Wednesday. If you do not notify him by Wednesday, you will be charged for your child's meet entry fees.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR LONG COURSE STATE:

Long Course State will take place in Grand Junction this summer from July 29th-August 1st, 2010.  There is little to no hotel space available on this weekend, due to other functions happening in town.  So you may want to reserve your room now!  Even if you are unsure as to whether your child will qualify to compete in this meet.  20 rooms of various sizes, have been reserved under "Evergreen Hurricanes", at the Main Stay Suites/Hampton, 225 Main Street, Grand Junction  (970) 242-2525 . Prices range from $129.00 per night-$159.00 per night.  These rooms will only be held until June 29th, 2010.  Thank you, Lisa Morrow for making these arrangements.

NO PRACTICE FOR ALL CATEGORIES MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15th

OFFICIALS NEEDED:  PLEASE CONSIDER THIS VITAL POSITION!!

With 87+ swimmers on the team we should have at minimum 9 officials.  We currently have 3 certified officials.  It is impossible for these 3 officials to not only meet the needs of our team, but also provide help to those teams that graciously bring  officials up to Evergreen for our home meets.  Our meet this weekend could not have run as smoothly without 13 other officials there helping out.  Several of which did not even have kids swimming.  Please help Kathy Lahr, Susan McDonald and Kirk Fleming by attending the next Stoke and Turn Judge Clinic to be offered at the North Jeffco Last Chance Meet on Saturday, February 20th.  For more information contact Kathy Lahr at president@evergreenswimteam.org.

SAVE THE DATE:  Annual KAB (Kids Against Breat Cancer) Swim-a-thon to be held at Wulf Recreation Center Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

This event will take place after our home meet from 2-4pm.  Think you will have had enough swimming for the day?  Well then count your laps in practice the week before and end by adding the laps you swim in the meet.  Collect donations for all those laps, and KAB will honor them! Make those laps count!  Participate in this great cause.  More information with pledge sheets to come in April.  Watch for them in your file at the pool.
