FEES
2010-2011 FEE STRUCTURE
For year-round swimmers in 2010-2011, there are two different payment plans available to families. Both of these plans exclude meet entry fees, which will be billed separately. Either of the payment plans and/or the meet entry fees can be paid by check or credit card. Note that high school swimmers are not required to pay monthly dues for two months (April & May) during their school year (see below for details). There is an adjusted fee schedule for swimmers joining in January 2011.
The two payment options for 2010-2011 are:
- LUMP SUM PAYMENT: You may elect to pay your annual fees and short course dues (Sept - May) in a lump sum payment at the time of registration. Should your family choose this option, you are entitled to ONE MONTH OF DUES FOR FREE. You will still be billed monthly for meet entry fees.
- MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN: If you select the monthly payment plan, your family will pay all annual fees at the time of registration, plus September dues, and be billed each month for dues and meet entry fees.
JANUARY JOINERS: For those swimmers joining the team in January 2011, there will be an adjusted fee schedule. The annual fees and pool fees are reduced from the year-round amount, while the fixed fees (USA Swimming and monthy dues) remain the same. Here is the January to May Fee Payment Form.
Members will receive monthly invoices via email; you may pay by check or credit card, but we prefer you pay by check if at all possible. Payment is due by the 15th of the month;there is a $25 fee for late payments. You can drop a check in the payment box at the pool, or mail it to:

ANNUAL FEES PER FAMILY: $335
The annual fees for each family must be paid in full at registration for both the lump sum and monthly options. The Family Fees include the following expenses:
- FAMILY REGISTRATION FEE: ($100 per year per family) This fee helps pay the cost of the administrative expenses of running the swim team.
- HOSPITALITY FEE: ($60 per year per family) This fee covers the cost of providing food at team functions and some of the hospitality for coaches and officials at our home meets.
- FUNDRAISING DONATION: ($175 per year per family) The swim team assesses this one-time fee, rather than ask families to participate in monthly fundraisers. Depending on the number of swimmers who join the team (and thus offset our overall costs) the Board may elect to hold additional fundraisers during the course of the year, which you will be invited to participate in. This donation to the team supports our general fund, and helps us cover the cost of running the swim team. Evergreen Swim Team is a 501c corporation and all donations are tax deductible.
ANNUAL FEES PER SWIMMER: ($57 plus Pool Fees)
These fees must be paid in full at time of registration, regardless of the payment plan you choose.
- USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION FEE: ($57 per year per swimmer) This covers required membership in USA Swimming. This membership allows our swimmers to compete in meets and also provides liability insurance for each swimmer. With a USA Swimming membership, your child will receive a membership card and an annual subscription to Splash, a bi-monthly publication which provides information of interest to swimmers.
- POOL FEES: The pool fees cover part of the cost the team pays to Evergreen Parks and Recreation for the use of the pool for all of our practice time. This fee is charged in a graduated manner to correspond with the amount of pool time offered to each practice group. Pool fees must be paid in a lump sum at registration.
CATEGORY 1: $150 per swimmer per year
CATEGORY 2: $175 per swimmer per year
CATEGORY 3: $175 per swimmer per year
CATEGORY 4: $200 per swimmer per year
CATEGORY 5: $200 per swimmer per year
In addition to the annual fees outlined above, there are monthly dues each swimmer pays, based upon which practice group he/she participates in. These dues help to offset the coaching salaries and insurance. Coach Jeff has planned for four practice groups and the dues for each level are:
CATEGORY 1: $70 per swimmer per month
CATEGORY 2: $90 per swimmer per month
CATEGORY 3: $100 per swimmer per month
CATEGORY 4: $110 per swimmer per month
CATEGORY 5: $120 per swimmer per month
In addition to the above, swimmers will be charged entry fees for the meets they elect to compete in. Also, a swimmer may need to purchase some equipment, caps, and a team suit.
HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMERS:
Evergreen Swim Team encourages its swimmers to participate with their High School Swim Team, in addition to swimming with the Hurricanes. To facilitate this dual participation, EST will waive two months of dues for any swimmer who participates on his/her high school swim team, as long as all registration fees (USA Swimming Registration, Pool Fees, and Annual Fees) have been paid in full. If these conditions are met, a high school swimmer can practice with the Hurricanes as often as possible during their high school season. The dues for high school swimmers will be waived during the months of April and May. In previous years, we have waived the dues for high school swimmers during the high school swim season, but found that some of these swimmers left the team before June, leaving unpaid balances. By changing the process in this way, we avoid the unpaid balances and simplify the accounting, while still providing this generous benefit to our families.
PUNCH CARD OPTION:
The Board has decided to offer a punch card option for those individuals who are not ready to join the team, but wish to get a sense of what competitive swimming is all about by coming to 10 practice sessions. An individual can only elect this option one time in our fiscal year (Sept - Aug). The cost of the punch card, which entitles a swimmer to attend 10 sessions of his/her choice, is $200 (includes $57 USA Swimming Registration).
IF YOU HAVE A SIBLING OF A CURRENT MEMBER WHO WISHES TO JOIN THE TEAM: You have already paid the family registration fees, so for this swimmer you need to pay the USA Swimming fee, pool fees, and monthly dues.
