Meet Recap, This Week's Schedule, Team Captains, Loveland Hotel, Upcoming Events

Brian Pursley

Hello Hurricane Families!

A big round of applause to everyone who showcased their skills at the Turkey Trot this past weekend. Despite the delays at the meet, our swimmers demonstrated one outstanding performance after another. Special kudos to our 12 and unders – they stole the show by winning in a remarkable percentage of heats, often by hige margins (cue the rubber duckies!). Our 12 and unders achieved personal bests in an impressive 92% of their races. Way to go Hurricanes!

Now, let's dive into some important announcements for the upcoming weeks:

This Week's Schedule
We'll be sticking to our regular schedule through Wednesday with one slight adjustment. On Wednesday, the senior practice will align with the Cat 2 and 3 practice, running from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Let's make every practice count! All practices are cancelled Thursday - Saturday for Thanksgiving break.

Team Captains
A big congratulations to Aspen Fisher and Zander DeJager, elected as team captains by our Senior Group. We're excited to witness their leadership in action throughout the rest of the season.

Loveland Hotel
For the upcoming Loveland Meet, we are working to send you to access our room block ASAP. We'll provide instructions soon, so please be sure to secure your accommodations promptly.

Upcoming Events

  • Holiday Party: Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 14th, at 6:00 pm. The location is still to be determined as we finalize options for a festive celebration.
  • Holiday Walk Booth: After the success of our Halloween walk booth, we're setting up shop again at the Holiday Walk on December 1st from 5 pm to 9 pm. If you'd like to lend a hand, please reach out – your support is invaluable.
  • Polar Plunge: Brave the cold and join us for the Polar Plunge on New Year's Day at Evergreen Lake, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Let's make it a memorable start to the year – last year's participants had a blast, and this year, we're aiming for a crowd of Hurricane Parkas to make a splash!

Have a great holiday week!

Go Hurricanes!
