Meet Recap

Let's extend a big congratulations to the swimmers who participated in the Pioneer Open this past weekend! This event marked the pinnacle of competition in Colorado for the current season, drawing participation from a majority of elite swimmers across the state. Our team fit right in with an exceptional performance for this stage of the season.

A special acknowledgment goes to Boyd Rothman, who delivered an outstanding performance throughout the weekend by achieving personal best times in every event. Despite being only 9 years old, Boyd emerged as our high point scorer, competing in both the 10 and under and 12 and under divisions.

We're thrilled to highlight Maya Patel as the Swimmer of the Meet, as she accomplished a significant milestone by attaining her first-ever sectional cut in the 200 back. This achievement marks an exciting moment in Maya's swimming journey. Qualifying for sectionals represents a swimmer's first step into national-level competition, getting there is an honor for any aspiring athlete. Let's offer a huge congratulations to Maya on this well-earned accomplishment!

Troutdale Tavern

You may have heard the rumors that Troutdale Tavern was sold over the weekend. I can confirm that the rumors are true, and also note that the owner gave us a heads up to the possibility a few weeks ago.

Troutdale is very proud of the $150,000+ that they raised for local charities over the past year and a half. We have been major beneficiaries of there work, and greatly appreciate the idea of a business for the benefit of the community.

Part of our arrangement with Troutdale was the sale of gift cards. Since the restaurant ownership is changing, we have the benefit of retaining all of the proceeds from our gift card sales. 100% of the amount paid for any gift card that has already been used or is not returned will go to the Hurricanes.

For those who would prefer, we will be able to offer refunds in exchange for unused gift cards through the end of the year. Please bring them by the pool where we will be prepared to accept them and credit your account.

It's worth noting that the Troutdale Tavern Staff conveyed that our organization was among the very best partners to work with. Our guests were supportive and enthusiastic, our staff (the swimmers) were diligent and hard working, and our overall attitude of appreciation stood out among all the organizations they helped. Thanks to everyone for representing the Hurricanes well!

We are disappointed that this partnership is ending, but very appreciative to everyone at Troutdale Tavern for the benefits we have been lucky to enjoy!
