Mock Meet Deadline, Home Meet Deadline, PPA October Meet Change

 

Mock Meet Registration Deadline:

 

The Hurricanes Mock Meet is coming up this Saturday!  This is a practice meet that all Hurricanes are invited to, and it will be from 7:00am - 8:30am at Wulf Rec Center Pool.

 

Reminder:  The deadline to sign up for this Mock Meet is this Thursday (September 19) at 8:00pm.  After this time, we will not accept any late entries because we will need to enter kids in events, and create/print heat sheets and timers sheets.  The times swum at this Mock Meet are not official times, so there will be no record of them attributed to your swimmers database.  Instead, the swims are just a way for our newer athletes to run through a swim meet experience as a rehearsal for the real thing!  Don't forget to sign up!

 

Also, we created a sign-up genius for parents to come and be timers for the meet.  The times don't matter, nor will they be recorded beyond the timers sheets we provide.  Swimmers will probably ask to see what time they went when the exit the water, but that is all.  We are including this aspect of the Mock Meet so that parents too can have a practice run through a timing shift and familiarize themselves with this volunteer role.  No experience necessary!  We strongly encourage parents who have never timed before to access the sign-up genius link and register for a slot!

 

 

High Altitude Season Kickoff Meet Registration Deadline:

 

This is a reminder that the deadline to register for our Home Meet is Monday, September 23rd at 8:00pm. 

 

No late entries will be accepted after this time.

 

The meet is at Wulf Rec Center on Saturday, September 28th.  Our warm ups will be from 7:30am-7:55am and the meet will start at 8:30am.

 

We anticipate the final event being down in the 11 o'clock hour.  If you have any time restraints and need to have your swimmer placed in earlier events to accommodate their participation, please state so in the NOTES box when you go in the commit to the meet.  The NOTES box is on the same page  where you select "Attend" to make your commitment.

 

Volunteer roles for this meet will be coming out very soon, but we want to nail down the Mock Meet stuff before we bombard you with all of those options and details!

 

 

Slight change to the Meet Schedule in October:

 

I found out yesterday that the PPA Harvest Heats meet that was on the calendar for October 11-13 has already filled because other teams sought out attendance and we got pushed out.  Super bummed about this one, but it is what it is.

 

The good news is that we have been granted access in to a different meet the SAME weekend, and it is also in Colorado Springs.

 

So think of this as a venue change and an opportunity to race against teams we are not used to competing against!

 

The meet name is the COSA Gian-Luc Jordan Open.  It is held at Cheyenne Mountain High School the weekend of October 11-13.  The meet information has been posted under the event name.  Here you can access ALL details about the meet, including:  All associated costs, events order, warm-up times, meet start times, pool location, and facility information.  The registration deadline for this meet is going to be Tuesday, October 1st at midnight.  We will send out reminders of this multiple times before the deadline expires
