Practice Updates, CUDA Recap, Home Meet Registration Deadline

We hope everyone enjoyed the cold weekend and you're all looking forward to a warmer end to January!

 

We had a great CUDA meet this past weekend with lots of best times and great swims from our Cat 1 swimmers all the way up to our Senior athletes.  Special congratulations go out to the following swimmers for achieving new Age Group State qualifying times:

 

Sydney Vigeant - 200 Back

Cannon Salmen - 50 Back, 100 Back, 200 Back

Nolan Rothman - 100 Back, 200 Back

 

 

We have an eventful week ahead, so please read each section below for important information and reminders!

 

 

No Practice for All Groups on Friday, January 24th.  There is a High School Meet held at Wulf that evening.

 

 

Practices Saturday are from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at the Idaho Springs Rec Center (Saturday January 25th)

 

In a previous email, we had mentioned that we are coordinating with the CCMRD rec center in Idaho Springs to run a Saturday practice with our Hurricanes over there in an effort to boost interest in our Clear Creek Hurricanes site we are developing at that pool.  Through much communication about how best to avoid ski traffic but also bring as large of a team presence to the practice, we decided to run practices for ALL HURRICANES (including any Cat 1 swimmers who want to attend) from 12:00-2:00pm on Saturday the 25th.  The Rec Center is going to provide Smokin' Yards BBQ for all participants!  We recognize that an afternoon practice is very different from our normal schedule, but we would love for as many Hurricanes to attend as possible so that we can show how much fun having full lanes at a swim practice can be!  No RSVP necessary, just come and get ready for a very fun practice!  If you have not been to their facility yet, you are in for a treat!

 

Home Meet February 1-2 registration deadline:

 

Our home meet, the Anthony Boettcher Memorial Meet, is fast approaching!   The registration deadline for this meet is set for Sunday, January 26th at midnight.  Please go in and register to participate in this meet, our goal is to have every Hurricane attend!  Even if it is for only one of the two days, your participation is very valuable to the successful execution of our biggest meet of the year!

 

We will have many volunteer roles to fill, and the sign up genius link will be sent out midday tomorrow along with a recap of each need we have.
