Mile High Registration, Summer Meet Schedule, Practice Changes

Just a few things here about the upcoming weeks as we close in on championship season!

Mile High Championships March 14-16

Our final Team Championship meet is coming up soon!  The Mile High Champs is held at the new Arvada Aquatic Center the weekend of March 14-16.  I have attached the meet information document to this email and also to the website under the event name.  Friday events will be timed final, but all events Saturday and Sunday will be championship format prelim/final.  The specifics of how many come back to Finals for each age group / event are outlined in the meet information.  As we draw nearer to the meet, an all inclusive email highlighting these details will be sent out to the whole team.  We encourage ALL Hurricanes to particiapte in this meet, as it is the last short course meet of the season and we would love a HUGE turnout for the Hurricanes!

The entry deadline has been set for midnight of Sunday, March 2nd.  Please register your swimmer before this time, and declare any specific limitations in the NOTES box when registering.

There is an apparel order form that closes on February 28th that you can access HERE if you are interested in securing an order prior to the meet.

Wulf Rec Center Usage:

We were asked by EPRD to remind all Hurricane parents that using the rec center for personal use is not part of being a Hurricane team member and all patrons have to purchase a pass or membership to use the gym!

Upcoming Practice Changes:

As we enter championship season, there are going to be a few practice changes made to the schedule as we have coaching staff off a various meets.  We are pinpointing all available coverage options and will announce such changes before the end of this week.  Nothing is different this week, but next week might have some alterations.

Spring / Summer Schedule Posted:

The meet schedule for the Spring / Summer has been posted on our website.  Most of these meets are Long Course Meters, as April is when LC Season begins.  The few Short Course meets on the calendar are in short course meters and specifically aimed at Category 1-2 participation only.  Click each event on the calendar to read about who should attend and mark your calendars!

Spring Break:

There will be a team-wide Spring Break that will coincide with the Jeffco Public School Spring Break.  There will be no practices for ALL GROUPS from Saturday, March 22 through Sunday, March 30.  Normal practice schedule will resume on Monday, March 31.

This applies to all Hurricanes EXCEPT the Sectionals qualifiers (you know who you are).  We will have practices on Monday the 24th and Tuesday the 25th before flying out to Texas on Wednesday the 26th.  Practice times on these days will be communicated directly to attending families.
