Mile High Champs Timing Shifts

Jordan Kuper

Hello Hurricane Families-

Wanted to get this out ASAP!

We are still waiting on things like heat sheets and facility details for the meet this weekend, but we received our timing assignments for the weekend.  We have a timing assignment in every session of the meet (except the 8&Under afternoon session Saturday).

The link to sign up for a timing shift is HERE.

By dividing the assignments up into two shifts in every session except Friday PM, the shifts are all under 2 hours long.  PLEASE click the link above and sign up for a shift that your swimmers will be at!

If you are a seasoned veteran at this and you are pretty sure your swimmer will be attending Finals in the evening, please consider grabbing one of the PM timing shifts versus an AM prelims one.

We are especially calling upon parents who have not yet timed this season to click the link and sign up for a shift.  It is really easy and no experience needed before become  "pro" within the first couple of heats.  There is a timers meeting the beginning of each "first shift" of a session.  They explain everything you need to know, so if you are new, consider taking the first of the two shifts offered in each session.

As with every team, at every meet, it always seems to be the same 10-15 parents who volunteer to time.  Rarely is this because they love it so much, but instead- they are the ones willing to help out without question.  We need to broaden our reach when it comes to parent volunteers.  If we all take a turn, then no one gets overloaded or turned to as an expectation.

Therefore, come Thursday night, I will look at the sign-ups at that point and fill all vacancies with parents names who have limited or no recent history of being a timer.  I will then email each individual family with their assignment.  I won't waste time trying to balance certain requests after this contact has been made, it will be whatever it is at that point.  The best way to avoid this from happening is to get in there and SIGN UP for the shift that works best for you.

Thank you in advance for helping make this meet possible for our swimmers!

We will send a follow up email by Thursday afternoon with an update, along with additional information received from the host club.

Thanks,

Jordan
