No Practice Friday, April 11th for all groups.  There is a High School meet at Wulf.

Lock-in Fundraiser:

Everyone has been getting emails over the past week and a half from our board president John Bernhart about our annual fundraiser this year.  Last year we did a swim-a-thon  in May, but this year we have what we believe to be an event that will be memorable for everyone on a whole other level!

The Dusk Til Dawn Lock-in will take place from 7:00pm Friday, April 25 until 7:00am Saturday, April 26.  All Hurricane swimmers are welcome to join for some or all of the event!

Our goal is to raise $25,000 for the team to purchase several additional items for running our home swim meets.  The event itself is going to be a masterful showing of team development and individual achievement within a 12 hour overnight setting.  There will be fun activities planned throughout the night such as a midnight water polo game, yardage tracker for all participants, races against coaches, and a team movie viewing within the event timeline.  Food, snacks, supervision, and fun will all be provided whether your swimmer is there for two hours or twelve.

We strongly encourage participation in this event!

Side note- this was the annual fundraiser that I did as a swimmer and 30 years later I still have vivid memories of the experience!  We really are excited to pull this off and create the same lifelong memories for your kids.

**High School Boys**:
We are aware that you have a meet before and after this event, but Coach Steve has said that this should not interfere with your participation in the event!  Since the meet on Saturday is sort of a last chance to qualify for this or that, but that most Hurricane swimmers are already above that standard, you shouldn't prioritize performance at this meet over participation in our event!!  In other words- just race a little tired from your night before and take a Saturday afternoon nap!

Whichever group has the most swimmers' profiles created and chunk of change donated by the end of this week will receive  an absolutely satiable dessert made by me on Tuesday.  Warm brownies, soft chocolate cookies, bags of puppy chow. "Who can resist the thought of experiencing the cooking expertise of Coach Jordan?"  This will ONLY be enjoyed by the group acquiring the most participation in our fundraiser by Sunday night.  Any extras will go home with that group's swimmers too!

Please set up your swimmer profile and strive to get that $250.00 per swimmer benchmark before our Lock-in Event!

If you wish to attend the Lock-in Event, please go into our event calendar and sign up for it just as you would for any other meet.  You do not need to declare any particular time that you might return to pick your swimmer up, just let us know at the beginning of the event.

Lastly, I have attached the document showing step by step how to set up your swimmer's profile for fundraising.  The list of prizes for certain tiers of donations is out there in all of John Bernhart's emails and on our website when you click the event banner on our website......all except one.  This reveal will be announced next week.

Team Awards Banquet Sunday, May 4th:

Also on the event calendar is our awards celebration at the Wild Game on Sunday,  May 4th from 4:00-6:00pm.  Please sign up to attend!  We especially encourage Category 1 swimmers to attend this year as they will all be recognized in a fun way at the ceremony.  Dinner is part of the price of admission, but by raising $250.00 or more for our Lock-in fundraiser, that price of admission is covered by the team.  Signing up for the event as early as possible is very helpful in getting a proper head count for the dinner order so if you know you are going to attend, go in there and sign up!

The awards banquet will recap our team's growth and success over the short course season.  It is a special event for the team so please consider coming and sharing part of your Star Wars day with the team!
