Meet Details for NJST Solstice Invite June 6-8
Location: Arvada Aquatic Center, 7904 Carr Dr, Arvada Co, 80006
**Important Note for all 12&Under athletes:
The meet information originally had a 10&Under session first, followed by an 11-12 session second for each Saturday and Sunday. The host team decided to combine these two sessions into one 12&Under session for both days due to the two separate sessions being quite short when run separately.
As you will see on the heat sheets for these AM Sessions, the event orders are all out of whack. They do not follow the usual sequence of 4,5,6,7,etc. It kind of bounces around between 10&Under events and 11-12 Events. So for example, the event order for Saturday morning goes Event # 9, 4, 10, 5, 11, 6, etc....
All events are being run mixed gender, so there will be boys and girls in the same heats throughout the whole meet instead of alternating girls events and boys events.
This might get confusing, so please be ready to help us help your swimmer know when their next event is coming up so they don't miss it!
Meet Schedule:
Friday:
Warm-ups 4:15-4:40pm in Lane 5
Meet Starts at 4:50pm
Saturday and Sunday AM Sessions (12&Unders):
Warm-ups 8:00-8:30am in Lanes 4 and 5
Meet Starts at 8:40am
Saturday and Sunday PM Sessions (13&Overs):
Warm-ups 12:00-12:30pm in Lane 10
Meet Starts at 1:10pm
All meet documents have been posted to the website under the event name on the Event Calendar. Please print your heat sheets at home!
There are several positive check-in events throughout the meet. If you look at a session heat sheet and see one of your swimmer's events NOT seeded into heats, this indicates that it is a positive check-in event and they will have to do this. Ask your coach for additional details on where to find the check-in sheet and how to do it if you are unfamiliar!
Timing Assignments:
We have two timing assignments given to us for this meet. They are small, and very minimal compared to most of the other visiting teams! Rather than doing a sign-up genius for these small assignments, I am hoping that some folks can respond to me saying they will claim one of the slots. If there are empty slots by the time the session arrives, I will have to go upstairs to the seating area and pull a few of you down to do it. I'm not a fan of taking this route, and I hope it doesn't come to that. However, I am fully aware of who does their fair share at these things, and who doesn't. So if I am tasked with selecting parents....guess whose gonna get chosen.....
The first is for the Saturday AM Session in Lane 8. We will need TWO timers to cover this session from 8:30am - 11:20am. (this excludes the 400 IM event)
The second is for the Sunday PM Session in Lane 10. We will need ONE timer to cover this session from 1:00pm - 4:10pm. (this excludes the 1500 event)
PLEASE shoot me an email if you are willing to take one of these spots! Or even half of one!
Additional Venue Information:
CONCESSIONS:
Will be available
PARKING/SWIMMER DROP-OFF:
Swimmer Drop-Off:
The entry for the drop off is to the north behind the building. There is a road that leads around the back and will put you in front of the building and stay to the right. There is a long lane next to the building to wait for your swimmer and drop them off. I have attached an aerial view of the building and have drawn a red arrow to show the entrance for swimmer drop-off.
Parking: During meets, if you find the pool parking lot full, an agreement has been worked out with Revive Church in the strip mall to the north of the pool for additional parking. There is a lot on the east and west side of the church and there is a stairway up from the road behind the mall to the back of AAC. You will still need to access the building using the front doors.
Reserved Parking: There will be cones/signs marking off a set of parking spots reserved for officials or designated meet personnel ONLY. If your team has an official working this meet, please let them know to park in the reserved spots for officials.
NEW BUILDING INFORMATION:
1.) We are a
closed deck facility. Only volunteers, officials & coaches are able to access the deck area
NO
spectators allowed on deck unless they are performing a
task assigned by the host team.
You will only be allowed on deck 10 minutes prior to your assignment and must leave immediately after completing your task
2.) Please have your swimmers use only the men's or women's locker rooms. There is a family locker room on-site but, due to Safe Sport regulations, we will have this closed to swimmers (there will be signs but we have found that signs can easily be overlooked.)
